Fintechgate reported on 8 October 2026 on Richmind's latest update for Oystra, including the Oystra design awards the project has won in 2026.
The update brought together recognition for the design, progress on site in Ras Al Khaimah and a new space for buyers in Dubai.
The Oystra Design Awards in 2026
Oystra received two industry awards in 2026: Design Project of the Year at the CW Property Awards, and Iconic Building of the Year at the Gulf Business Real Estate Awards.
Fintechgate presents the awards as early recognition for a building that is still under construction, and as a reflection of its architectural vision.
- Design Project of the Year, CW Property Awards 2026
- Iconic Building of the Year, Gulf Business Real Estate Awards 2026
- Architecture by Zaha Hadid Architects
- Lead design consultant: Dewan Architects + Engineers
- Interiors by HBA, landscape by Cracknell
What Makes the Design Stand Out
Oystra brings the architectural language of Zaha Hadid Architects to Al Marjan Island. Its sculptural forms are inspired by the sea and the sky, and the project is planned around leisure, wellbeing and life on the waterfront.
Dewan Architects + Engineers turns the concept into a coordinated, technically sound design that can be built.
Oystra is also the first residential project by Zaha Hadid Architects on Al Marjan Island. It sits next to Wynn Al Marjan Island, the UAE's first integrated resort, which gives the award-winning design a prominent setting on the island's waterfront.
From Award-Winning Design to Construction
The awards came as Richmind completed the shoring works at Oystra. This stage secures the excavation and prepares the site for the next phase of building.
"This essential stage reflects the precision and care required to translate Oystra's architectural vision into reality," said Mohammad Rafiee, CEO of Richmind.
Richmind says construction has kept a steady pace over recent months, with a focus on quality and on meeting its delivery timeline. Further construction updates are planned as the work continues.
A New Showcase in Dubai
Richmind also opened its Experience Centre at Building 822, Jumeirah 3. Designed by Gensler and developed over 18 months, the building lets visitors explore Oystra's design, materials and finishes, and meet the team in person.
Rafiee described it as an introduction to the care Richmind is bringing to Oystra.
How the Project Got Here
The awards arrive at the end of a fast first chapter for Oystra. Richmind unveiled the project in April 2025, broke ground in December 2025 after the first phase sold out, and launched Phase 2 at Ain Dubai in January 2026.
With the shoring stage now complete, the design that judges recognised is moving into its main construction programme, with handover planned for 2029.
The Wider Context
Fintechgate notes that luxury buyers in the UAE now look beyond design alone, at progress on site, transparency and confidence in delivery. Richmind says its strategy combines all of these.
